Indonesia Faces Data Breach Emergency: PERMIKOMNAS Questions Komdigi’s Role
Jakarta, October 24, 2025 — PERMIKOMNAS stated that Indonesia is facing a data breach emergency following the recent e-SIM incident, questioning Komdigi’s role, which has been perceived as slow and lacking transparency. The organization urged concrete actions, including security audits, evaluation of digital service partners, and stricter policy enforcement in accordance with the Personal Data Protection Law (Law No. 27/2022, Article 59(1)) and Presidential Regulation No. 106/2024, Article 3(2)(d). PERMIKOMNAS emphasized that Komdigi’s authority must not remain a mere formality but should be realized through tangible actions to protect personal data. This statement was delivered by PERMIKOMNAS Chairperson Fadli, who also opened the possibility of further action should no significant improvements be made.
Institutional Gathering of the National Association of Informatics and Computer Students Region XII Kalimantan, West Kalimantan Area Carrying the Theme: “Moving Together, Empowered for Indonesia’s Technological Advancement”
PERMIKOMNAS Region XII Kalimantan, West Kalimantan Area, successfully held an Institutional Gathering at the Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Tanjungpura, on 25 October 2025. The event brought together student associations in informatics and computer science across West Kalimantan to strengthen networks, collaboration, as well as digital literacy and security awareness through seminars, sharing sessions, and inter-organization exchanges. This momentum marks the revival of PERMIKOMNAS in West Kalimantan with a strong commitment to supporting inclusive and sustainable technological development in the region.
PERMIKOMNAS urges the Government and the House of Representatives (DPR-RI) to immediately ratify the Personal Data Protection Bill (RUU PDP).
Makassar, August 21, 2025 – The recurring personal data breaches in Indonesia have raised serious concern within the National Association of Informatics and Computer Students (PERMIKOMNAS). The organization argues that weak government data protection and cybersecurity measures have left millions of citizens vulnerable. PERMIKOMNAS urges the government and the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI) to immediately pass the Personal Data Protection Bill (RUU PDP), establish an independent Personal Data Protection Authority, and strengthen the nation’s cybersecurity infrastructure. The organization emphasized that data breaches are not merely technical issues, but matters involving human rights, public trust, and socio-economic stability.
Send-Off Ceremony for HIMATIF FST–UNSAM Delegates Attending the PERMIKOMNAS Region I Anniversary
The Informatics Engineering Student Association (HIMATIF) of the Faculty of Science and Technology, Universitas Samudra, officially sent its delegates to attend the 14th Anniversary series of PERMIKOMNAS Region I at Universitas Al Muslim, Bireuen. The delegates will take part in institutional meetings, regional work program discussions, seminars, and networking sessions with other informatics student associations to strengthen organizational capacity and regional collaboration.
National Hackaton
The National Association of Informatics and Computer Science Students (Permikomnas), in collaboration with BBPSDMP Kominfo Makassar, successfully organized a National Hackathon that took place over two days filled with enthusiasm, innovation, and creativity. The hackathon, carrying the theme “Building the Future with Technology: Innovation and Collaboration” and sponsored by Sulselbar, Lenovo x HND Komputer, JuliaNet, and AGLAONEMA, has reached its peak.
